Week 6 Home Learning Task

Year 9 Reading Homework

Experts tell us that to get better at reading we need to practise reading. So part of your home learning this term is to read a  book and write about it.
Steps 2 Success:
1.    Choose a book (fiction or non-fiction, but not a magazine).
2.   Read it.
3.   Choose any 2 tasks.
4.   Complete them and hand it in by the deadline.

Tasks:

Which parts of this book stick most clearly in your mind? Why?
TITLES:

Why did the author choose the title of the book?
BEGINNINGS:

How does the book open? it engages your interest ­ if it grabs you instantly, how does it do that?
CHARACTERS

Is there one character that is similar to you? In what way? How was this shown?
SIMILARITIES

Have you ever had a similar experience as someone in the book?

CONFLICT

How would you resolve the conflict (problem) in the book?

What would you do differently than the main character?
